  7. If you were one of the unfortunate people who tried using my initial version
  8. of this program, I apologize. That work was rather shoddy, wasn't it! :-)
  9. Unfortunately, I decided NOT to include an "UPGRADE" script for these users,
  10. as this next version was completely rewritten and includes MANY new and
  11. improved features. If you were using that initial version, please PURGE it
  12. from your systems before continuing.

  14. Note to Users of Platinum, v1.96
  15. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  16. If presently using a copy of my 1.95 version of Platinum, you can update to
  17. the 1.96 version simply by copying all the COMMAND files(those files sitting
  18. in the root "Platinum/" directory over those you are presently using). No
  19. changes were made to the formats of the config files, so you needn't have to
  20. re-run the included install script, however you SHOULD run the included
  21. ARexx "Upgrade195" script, which will simply change the version numbers of
  22. your config files to 1.96, so that they can be used with the newer command
  23. files.

  25. Steps On Installing
  26. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  27. Follow these steps for "quick" installtion:

  29. 1. Copy the entire "Platinum/" directory to a place on your system you deem
  30.    appropriate for such a file.
  31.  
  32.    Copy the included libraries to your LIBS: directory if you don't have
  33.    them already(then reboot your system, so they'll be recognized).

  35. 2. Inside the included "Platinum/" directory is a file "PL_INSTALL". This
  36.    should be the FIRST file you use. It's written in CNetARexx, and should
  37.    be used from WITHIN CNet Proper, so you'll need to either add it to one
  38.    of your lists, or else use a "RUN ARexx" command to execute it. (Note
  39.    that this file must ALSO be run LOCALLY, as it relies on REQUESTORS for
  40.    some of it's operations). Don't worry about the possibility of this file
  41.    be running remotely, though, as it will make SURE you are LOCAL before it
  42.    continues.

  44.    NOTE: If, for some reason, the install script halts prematurely, I have
  45.          included copies of the config files inside the "Platinum/Configs/"
  46.          directory. You can delete the partial copies created by the install
